Behavioral Design Consulting

Human behavior doesn’t occur in a vacuum; it is carried out in a rich environment. Changing even small features of the environment can have a profound influence on how people think and act.

My teams uses insights from behavioral science to help companies change the habits of their employees and customers – a process I call Behavioral Design. Most companies reach out to me after their initial attempts to change behavior fail or backfire.

I help companies solve a wide range of behavioral change challenges. Behavioral design can be applied to any aspect of behavior change, from company culture change to build better employee habits.

Contact me if you think you might want to work with me, simply send me an email briefly describing the problem you want to address.

Below are a few challenges I’ve help organizations overcome.

  • Employees not following safety protocols

My team developed a cost-free protocol that reduced safety violations for frontline workers in a high-risk industry. This simple intervention has reduced safety violation fines and on-the-job injuries across the industry.

  • Employees not innovating

We have worked with several companies to help them develop a culture of product innovation. We find that a simple cultural ritual can turn passive employees into active innovators.

  • High turnover rates

In one recent case, a company was experiencing high turnover amongst the independent contractors it relied on to drive sales. We conducted a motivational audit to determine why attrition was so high. Our intervention increased employee satisfaction and improved the turnover rate at minimal cost.

  • Improve word-of-mouth referrals

For one service company, we helped build an unexpected moment into the service interaction that got people talking and increased referrals.
